George McConnel's Motorcycle Racing Page

I'm proud to be an MSF Certified Safety Instructor / RiderCoach.
The more you know, the better it gets!
Please Note:Although I am certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation as an instructor and RiderCoach, the views I present on this page are not necessarily sanctioned by the MSF. I have put this page together as a reflection of my own personal opinions and attitude toward motorcycle riding.

I began this set of pages back in 2006 when I bought myself a track-only race bike, namely the 2002 Honda RC51 I began racing with. I have since that time bought and race prepped a 2001 Suzuki SV650 which I also race. So this page has evolved from an RC51 specific page to a more generic racing page.

If you'd like to see more of an introduction to my race bikes you can click on either of the two pictures below:

Before purchasing a race bike I needed some race leather. I'm way too large to be able to go to a store and buy off-the-shelf racing leather, so I had no choice but to get something custom made for really large guys. Fortunately I was able to get a great deal on these leathers made by "Barnacle" Bill Burns. He had made them for another large guy who only used them briefly before getting out of track riding. I got these for about 2/3 the cost of a new set of leathers from Barnacle Bill.

My Racing / Track Riding Adventures

Although I'm certainly subject to get lazy and/or miss posting one, the following list is intended as a record of the track days or racing adventures I've had.
